Neil Dalton Consulting (NDC) was established in 1995 by the late Neil Dalton, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Estate Agents Board of Victoria
NDC is a boutique market leader in providing audit and accounting services, independent, objective strategic advice and business improvement services to Real Estate clients.
We understand Real estate sector issues and can provide practical insights to Real Estate clients to assist them to improve performance by sharing leading practices. We are experienced in trust accounting audit and compliance, business planning and structuring, rent roll sale / purchase and due diligence on the sale and acquisition of rent rolls / businesses, as well as training and investigations.
Over the years, NDC has worked with in excess of 250 clients in the Real Estate sector including franchise groups and independent agents.
Today, NDC is operated and led by Neil’s son, James, who has extensive real estate experience both at an individual agency, group and corporate level. James is a Chartered Accountant with 20 years experience at both KPMG in audit, management consulting and restructuring and in private practice.
Leadership under James Dalton
Today James leads and operates NDC having joined in April 2013, returning to Melbourne after four years working in KPMG’s Restructuring practice in New York during the global financial crisis. James has extensive real estate experience both at an individual real estate agency, group and corporate level and has worked with franchisees, independents and some of Australia’s largest franchisors. He is passionate about Real Estate and enjoys helping clients to be successful in what is increasingly a very competitive market.
James has a wide range of experience in audit and compliance, fraud prevention and trust accounting, business planning and structuring, due diligence, restructuring and business improvement from small to multi-national organisations. During his career, he has undertaken independent assessments on behalf of stakeholders, assessed / developed business plans, undertaken due diligence assignments and designed and implemented solutions to improve performance and effect business turnaround.
James also brings a diversity of experience and ideas resulting from having worked with clients in many sectors including residential and commercial real estate, listed property funds management, shipping, retail, consumer markets, telecommunications, health care, IT and mining. In June 2011, James assisted Centro Properties Group to sell their US retail shopping centre portfolio (approximately 590 properties) for $9.4 billion. The sale of these assets formed part of a broader strategy to restructure the Group. Prior to this at Centro, James played a lead role in the successful debt restructuring of Centro Properties Group in 2008, one of the largest and most complex restructurings completed globally in 2008.
